Young Rising

Friday Nights
6:30 - 9:00pm

Young Rising is our youth ministry for students in grades 5-12, running Friday nights from 6:30-9:00pm during the school term. Please register students before attending for the first time.

On Praise Nights, we all gather together for a big night of praise and worship. Other weeks, we split into two groups: our younger students go with our Emerge leaders into the Hub for life groups, while our Ascend leaders stay with the older students in the main church auditorium.

This term we also have several opportunities for students to be baptised. Please read more below about our baptism pathways.

Once a term we hold a big games or outreach night and each January we run a Summer Camp near Wollongong. Registrations for January 12-15 are open now!

We are working towards creating a sensory space for students who need a quieter space while still being able to connect with others. During our louder events, we will always have a Sunflower Space set up in the foyer or parents room with a variety of activities and with dedicated supervision and support. We also provide earplugs, fidget toys, and additional flexibility for students who may need help focusing or find the auditorium loud or overstimulating.

Student Baptism Pathways

The best starting place is a conversation. For students interested in baptism, we suggest talking with your parents or another trusted and spiritually mature adult as your starting point.
You can also talk with your life group leader or your Youth Pastors about this decision.

For parents and guardians, the questions worth considering are:
Has this young person committed their life to Jesus? Do they understand this decision and can they express to you why they decided to follow Jesus?
Have they made their own personal decision to get water baptised? Can they explain the significant of baptism and why it is personally meaningful for them?

A conversation.

1 An information session.

Our church will be running a Baptism Information Session on Sunday 1 November, from 3:45-4:45pm. We strongly encourage all those considering water baptism to sign up for this session. Parents of young people are also welcome to attend with them.

Registering for this session is a good way to structure your initial conversation about baptism - the registration will ask the person being baptised to answer some questions about their own faith journey and their understanding of baptism.

This session is free to attend. If you can’t make this time, please let us know here and we will try to organise an alternative.
