‘The Greatest Evidence’
Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The one thing it cannot be is moderately important." – CS Lewis
"And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith… And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins." (1 Corinthians 15:14, 17 NIV)
"Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word." (Luke 1:1-2 NIV)
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep." (1 Corinthians 15:3-6 NIV)
God is Not afraid of Doubt
"Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." (John 20:25 NIV)
“Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
“My Lord and my God!"(John 20:28 NIV)
“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29 NIV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:16-17 NKJV)
God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it." (Acts 2:32 NIV)
C.S. Lewis: "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."
The absence of a body in a tomb is evidence…but the presence of His life in your life is stronger evidence.
