about usOur Focus for 2019
We are excited for the year ahead and believe the theme God has given us for 2019 is STRENGTHEN based on the Bible verses in ISAIAH 54:2-3 (NIV).
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. 3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.”
1. Enlarge your tent — We must reject smallness. Enlargement requires us to get out of our small boxes, our small routines, our small thinking and our limited view of life and God. 1 Chronicles 4:10 (TNIV) “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”
2. Stretch your curtains — Enlarging the place of your tent means making room for some new people and new things in your life. Relationships will stretch you. Faith will stretch you. Fruitfulness will stretch you. 2 Thessalonians 1:3 (NLT) “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.” If you want more, if you’re tired of an unfulfilled, unfruitful, barren life, then God is saying, “enlarge and stretch.” You will never see a miracle until you stretch your faith.
3. Lengthen your cords — Increase you connectivity to Christ, to people and too serving. Ephesians 4:16 (NIV) “From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Cords need to be flexible. Blessed are the flexible for they will not be bent out of shape.
4. Strengthen your stakes. Isaiah identifies 3 Issues - unfruitfulness, fear, and shame. God want you to discover Jesus as your anchor point for your identity and sense of purpose. Nehemiah 6:9 (NIV) “They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”
Zechariah 10:12 (NIV) “I will strengthen them in the Lord and in his name they will live securely,” declares the Lord.”
As always, we encourage you to get ‘YOUR WORD’ for the year from God and a Scripture.
We invite you to join us in reaching this great city of ours and beyond.

about usOur Statement of Faith
About God God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 14:14.
About Mankind We are all made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although mankind has tremendous potential for God, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates us from God. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2.
About Eternity We were all created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. The place of eternal separation from God is called Hell. Heaven is the place of eternal union and life with God. John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 21:27.
About Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13
About Salvation Salvation is a gift from God to mankind. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and God’s offer of forgiveness, can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; John 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1.
About The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available for all believers and is evidenced by speaking in tongues. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1; Acts 2:4.
About The Bible The Bible is God’s word to all mankind. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160; 12:6; Proverbs 30:5. We believe in water baptism and observance of the Lord’s Supper. Acts 22:16; 1 Corinthians 11:24-26
